Presented by AG1:
Mile 23, before the Fifth Avenue hill. I didn’t even see what my friend Sashah’s sign said in this moment. I was overstimulated by what was happening around me, taken aback by the zillionth confetti cannon, welcoming the support from the crowds, focused on tackling the incline on deck.
… but when I saw my race mantra staring back at me in these photos on Tuesday, I got emotional.
What you’ve got to offer may feel like it varies. Some days life feels doable and easy and others it feels beyond impossible, like you’re summiting Everest. And within the context of running? What you have to give at mile 23 on tired legs is certainly different than the exhilarating seconds before the start. But, it’s in the times when I don’t feel so shiny and life’s anything but effortless (read: this past week) that it’s especially important to remember — it’s in there.
The sparkle.
The grit.
The strength.
The good.
… That’s why I come back to this motto time and time again, and why this exchange caught on film is so special. It’s OK if what you’ve got is different from one moment to the next. In fact, it’s to be expected. What matters, though, is that you remember: You’ve got it. We’ve got it.
One breath.
One step.
One thing at a time.
TELL ME: How are you doing, really? Do you have a mantra you lean into during difficult moments?
Keep hurdling,
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
I’m Watching: GAP’s Holiday Campaign Video
This Janet Jackson song came out when I was in elementary school, and seeing this rendition of it featuring such a diverse arrangement gave me chills and also … some hope.
Gear I’m Loving: Athleta’s Fine Lines Collection
Got a set from this collection — launched today — over the weekend, and I’ve worn it twice since. Love the subtle detailing. The longline bra is super flattering, and the half-zip sweatshirt is extra cozy.
Prompt I’m Loving: What’s one thing you want to accomplish before the end of the year? What’s one thing you can do today to get closer to accomplishing it?
Quote I’m Loving: “If you are wondering who your people are, they are the ones who make your heart feel seen and your nervous system feel calm.” — Yung Pueblo
Thanks to AG1 — the daily foundational nutrition supplement that supports whole-body health — for supporting Hurdle.
I originally gave AG1 a try years ago because I was tired of taking so many supplements and wanted a single solution that supports my entire body and covers my nutritional bases. I wanted better gut health, a boost in energy, immune system support, and also wanted a supplement that actually tastes great. And I can tell you — it checks all of those boxes.
In a recent study, AG1 revealed that participants had the same feelings of energy, focus, and supported digestion that I’ve had using AG1. For example, after 60 days, 91% of participants in a research study noticed they needed less coffee; after 90 days, 97% of study participants felt their digestion improved.
I shake up AG1 every morning after my workout, and truly it makes me feel energized and confident knowing that I’m doing something good for my body by giving it the nutrition I deserve — including 75 whole food-sourced ingredients, prebiotics, probiotics, adaptogens, and superfoods.
If you want to take ownership of your health, it starts with AG1. Try AG1 and get a FREE 1-year supply of Vitamin D3/K2 AND five free AG1 travel packs with your first purchase. Go to drinkAG1.com/hurdle.

Another (weekly) Hurdle conquered. Catch you guys next week.
Love this mantra Emily! Congrats on your awesome marathon last week! My mantra for tough days and weeks is… “Don’t let the hard days win.”
Love this mantra. I remind myself on weeks like this that if all I've got is 20% and I give all of that 20%, I've just given it my all.
