I sat at my desk staring at an empty Google doc for about 25 minutes yesterday, wondering what to put in this newsletter after Wednesday’s events in Washington D.C. As someone at the helm of a community, I understand that it is my responsibility and privilege to use my voice for good. I don’t have anything good to say about how it felt, watching rioters break into the Capitol. It was a horrible day for American democracy. I do, however, find it necessary to reiterate that every day, we have an opportunity to DO good. To be good. It takes strength to meet an unkind person with goodness and grace. Personally, I plan to continually to work on that strength as the days go on.
The question arises: What does one who is at a loss for words but has a weekly newsletter put in said newsletter?
The answer: Puppies.
An Instagram post later, and oh-my this community showed up in full force, sending many photos of adorable, adorable, adorable (worthy of three here) doggos. Unfortunately, I couldn’t include them all. Alas, it is still my great joy to bring them to you.
Make me this one promise before you scroll, though, OK?
Say one kind thing to someone today, ASAP.
Also, before the dog photos commence, I do want to take a moment to thank all of the wonderful guests who lent me their expertise for this week’s “In Focus” series on Hurdle, brought to you by WHOOP.
