Presented by AG1:
I’ve learned a lot of things as an entrepreneur, but one of my guiding principles over the past handful of years since going out on my own is that there’s enough room for everyone to win. When you operate out of love not fear, another person’s victories don’t intimidate you. Rather, they inspire you. I write this in today’s newsletter since today, March 1, marks the beginning of Women’s History Month.
I am so grateful to have a slew of female influences in my life, all of whom make me want to be a better me. To have the opportunity to interview so many outstanding individuals, like Monique Billings, Sally McRae, Allyson Felix, Tunde Oyeneyin, Nneka Ogwumike, Jess Sims, and more. In celebrating the people that I admire, I feel empowered to keep doing me — knowing that each person has a unique POV and opportunity to share that authenticity with the masses. Does that mean I don’t struggle with comparison from time to time? Of course not. But I know that a rising tide lifts all boats — and I’m lucky to be in the harbor with a pretty damn great fleet.
This month (and every day) — I celebrate the ladies that make up this community (the listenership for the show is 91% women, after all). Pull up a seat to the table, there’s room for us all. Your enthusiasm and excitement for approaching challenges head-on and working on the best version of yourselves is one helluva motivator for me to keep pushing through on the regular.
Keep going, and while your at it — tell a woman in your life that you appreciate her today, too.
TELL ME: Who is one woman that inspires you?
Keep hurdling,
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
I’m Listening To: James Corden: How to Know When the Tie is Right To Let Go on On Purpose with Jay Shetty
So many powerful takeaways in this one. The visualization of letting go of a balloon, symbolizing the liberation that comes with releasing those expectations, really resonated with me. Other topics: How to effectively chase after success, how to pick yourself up after failure, how to balance family life and career, and how to slow down when things get tough.
Gear I’m Loving: Salty Britches Chafing Ointment
Was I influenced to buy this by a male running influencer who logs something like 20 miles a day? Yes. Does it work? Also yes. Admittedly, it’s a little pricey for the size, but finishing a long workout without chafing is worth $17.99. Heads up: The formula has a consistency like Vaseline.
NYC Event Announcement: Rapha New York International Women’s Day Panel
Free vibes! Come join me for an awesome evening of conversation and cocktails at 7 p.m. on March 8 at Rapha New York (159 Prince St) as we honor International Women's Day. I’ll be moderating a panel, and then we’ll be toasting the occasion with drinks and bites. Register at the link above.
Prompt I’m Loving: How do you want to feel over the next seven days? What is within your power to make that happen?
Quote I’m Loving: “Don't think about making women fit the world — think about making the world fit women.” — Gloria Steinem
Thanks to AG1 — the daily foundational nutrition supplement that supports whole-body health — for supporting Hurdle.
If there’s one super simple thing you can do for your health over the holiday season, it’s investing this. I originally gave AG1 a try years ago because I was tired of taking so many supplements and wanted a single solution that supports my entire body and covers my nutritional bases. Plus, I was popping way too many gummy vitamins. I wanted better gut health, a boost (or similar) in energy, immune system support, and also wanted a supplement that actually tastes great. I shake it up every morning after my workout, and truly it makes me feel energized and confident knowing that I’m doing something good for my body by giving it the nutrition I deserve — including 75 whole food-sourced ingredients, prebiotics, probiotics, adaptogens, and superfoods.
If you want to take ownership of your health, it starts with AG1. Try AG1 and get a FREE 1-year supply of Vitamin D AND five free AG1 travel packs with your first purchase. Go to drinkAG1.com/hurdle.
NEW PODCAST EPISODE🎧: 291. Paving The Way: Marathoner Joan Benoit Samuelson On Dreaming Big & Her Lasting Relationship With Sport
Look up the word "goat" in the dictionary, and you'll see a photo of Joan Benoit Samuelson. OK, maybe not really — but Joan's the first woman to ever with the Olympic Marathon in its inaugural year for women in 1984. We had the opportunity to sit down in Orlando this year during the Olympic Trials, and this was definitely a pinch-me moment.
With a plethora of wise takeaways, we chat through so many things in this week's episode: Nike’s Project Dreamweaver, navigating injury and longevity, how she balanced the sport with growing her family, and her opinion on how the culture of the sport has changed.
HOW CAN I SUPPORT HURDLE?
