Repeat After Me: I'm Enough As I Am
There's so much power in perspective, if you only choose to harness it.

Presented by LMNT:
I spent July 29 to August 14 in Paris last month. Then, I returned from September 1 to 4, followed by a stopover in Rome before heading back home this morning. If I told my younger self she’d be able to type those sentences in her mid-30s, she’d have so many questions. Heck, if I told myself this a few years ago, I would’ve had a lot of questions, too.
I have a lot of thoughts on why this lifestyle works for me right now (no partner, no kids, and a lot of ambition). As I was getting ready to head out to do some touristing early Thursday, I felt this big wave of gratitude wash over me.
… I know so many women — myself included — who struggle with the constant societal pressure to settle down, date regularly, and have children. It’s not that I don’t want those things eventually, but right now — it’s just not where I’m at. Thus, my gratitude’s rooted in the fact that I have this undivided time to be with myself. To date myself (which admittedly sounds corny as anything). I get to try new things, continue to learn who I really am at my core, and articulate my values and priorities — while being mindful of my inputs and outputs.
There’s a lot of power in perspective. Maybe it’s in this instance. Maybe it’s remembering you get to move your body on a day where the motion feels anything but easy. Maybe it’s an opportunity to slow down in traffic (literally) and breathe. Maybe it’s taking forced time off due to injury, which gives you the chance to focus on something you’ve been putting off or even — try something new. Whatever you’re focused on, remember, you’ve got the opportunity to react to your thoughts.
And you? Whether you’re single, attached, a mom, an auntie, or none of that business — you get to be 100 percent and complete on your own— no one else, required.
Keep hurdling,
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
I’m Loving: Athleta Pinnacle High Rise Trouser
This has been my travel-friendly go-to as of late. Looks like a regular trouser, but it’s made with a nylon/Spandex blend that moves with you (and wicks sweat, too). There’s a $50 off $200 spend right now, so snag my go-to Transcend Top to go with it — and you’ve got an outfit.
I’m Listening To: “Joy (Unspeakable)” featuring Pharrell by Voices of Fire
Heard this earlier in the week, and have been vibing to it ever since.
Prompt I’m Loving: What’s one thing you want to let go of this fall?
Quote I’m Loving: “In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.” — Abraham Maslow
NEW ON THE SHOW 🎧
If you look up "hard work" in the dictionary, you may just find a photo of Athleta's Chief Marketing Officer Ilona Aman. This conversation truly touches on so many of my favorite topics: Careers, entrepreneurship, wellness, women in sport, a fresh perspective on imposter syndrome, and so much more. In this week’s episode, Ilona gets real about the challenges that go hand in hand with being so career motivated, how she structures her family for balance, and her motivation to inspire her daughter and the next generation.
Thanks to LMNT — an electrolyte drink mix with everything you need and nothing you don't — for supporting Hurdle.
Gotta give some love to LMNT, zero-sugar hydration to support your active lifestyle. I’m a salty sweater (cute, I know). These electrolytes are my go-to to perform better. I like them not just because they taste great (the watermelon salt is my favorite as of late), but they’re also without artificial ingredients, sugar, and coloring. With LMNT, you can:
