I left my toxic job of over 3 years back in May! Lots of ups and downs in the search since, but no matter what's happened I don't regret my decision one bit. Now I'm ending the year in a freelance role at my dream company! Even though I'm worried about securing something full time when my contract ends early in the new year, I'm so proud of myself for taking that leap this year and know it will all work out.

I left my job as a critical care nurse and went into hospice nursing. I loved my hospital job but needed a change that would benefit family time. I absolutely loved hospice nursing but the management was less than ideal and I needed to get out. Out of the blue, my previous manager offered me a PRN position back on my old floor. I saw that message as fate and went back. I have no regrets about any of these changes as it only made me a better nurse. Death with dignity is so important to me and there is something so beautiful and special about taking care of someone in their last weeks, days, and even minutes of their life. I know this seems like an unusual comment, but all the change in this made me a better human and an even better nurse. I remind myself often that in the moment, you may not understand the struggles of life whether it is a career change, personal struggles, etc., but once you get to the other side, you understand the reason you were put through these challenges and you come out so much stronger!
