I had another newsletter queued up for tomorrow. It’s a listener Q&A. The good news? I plan on sending it early next week! Think of it as a *bonus* edition. However, as I linger in the middle of my new home on moving day, unpacking all of the things and wishing I had the stamina to legitimately unpack all the things before I finally pass out, I wanted to share something instead that nearly knocked me upside the head about 12 minutes ago:
Slow. Down.
I sat down for the first time today (aside from during the car ride between the Upper East Side and Brooklyn) about 11 minutes ago. I took a deep breath. I literally felt as though I heard a voice ask “what’s the rush?” Then, I looked around. (I’m serious.)
I let out a huge sigh. Then I thought: Today, here, now, in this place — I only have this moment. Yes, tomorrow is a new day. And then, hopefully there’s another one after that. But while I’m very much a “let’s get down to business!” person, sometimes I need to consciously stop myself and remember to savor the moments as they pass.
We’ll never get this day back. We owe it ourselves to enjoy this day.
Tonight, I choose to feel the emotions. Stop worrying about the hustle. Seek clarity and be intentional about how I move in this new space. Of course, this feels especially relevant as I embark on a new chapter in my story. However, it’s a solid reminder for all of us in the days, weeks, months, and years to come.
If this resonates with you, then I have to ask: Are you hustling in the right direction? One that feels purposeful for you? Or just hustling to hustle?
Inhale. Exhale. One delicious, savory moment at a time.
Another hurdle, conquered. I’ll be back in your inboxes, soon.
