I love this. I’m a bedside nurse and the hospital can be a scary place for patients and their families. The other day I had a patient that was discharging on hospice and their sister was teary eyed and worried. I gave her a huge hug that lasted probably a good 20 seconds and she was thankful for that(as was I). Kindness goes such a long way and I believe it is SO important in today’s world 🩷

I have found that acknowledging (even if just through kind eye contact) people in public spaces (such as the grocery store) that others typically avoid or ignore for a multitude of reasons brings joy to both myself and them. You can see their shoulders relax a bit. I want them to know I see them and I think they are worth sharing space with. 🩷
