Presented by AG1:
T-minus two weeks (ish) until I’m heading over to the City of Love to find love. OK, I’m kidding. But, also, open to it? The Olympics are almost here, and I’m so excited to be going to Paris for a couple weeks and hit the ground running. Despite traveling constantly, never have I ever spent two+ weeks living out of suitcases (I’m bringing a checked bag and a carry-on for this trip) — but I am stoked to give it a whirl! As someone who hops at least one flight a month, I thought it was about time I dive into specifics. So, for this week’s Weekly Hurdle, I’m giving you a sneak peak of nine of my travel essentials:
Away Bigger Size Carry-On
This has been my go-to carry-on for years. Not only does the hard shell make it easy to cram even more inside (the sit and zip method works every time) — but I love Away’s customer service. When the zipper on mine broke a few months ago, I had a new suitcase in my possession within a week — no questions asked and no replacement fee. I already checked, and this “bigger” size also fits in the overhead on Air France planes. Pro tip: Get a colored one. As sleek and cute as black is, a colored suitcase makes it easier to keep track of and less likely to confuse for someone else’s (trust me, I’ve been there).
LMNT & AG1 Packs
Literally never leave home without them. Whether I’m in Brooklyn or on the road, my morning sips are a non-negotiable part of my routine. Regardless of time zone, I find some calm in keeping things the same, especially with my a.m. rituals.
Athleta Balance Jogger
OK, so I’m actually wearing these on the plane — but, same same. During travel comfort is key, especially when you’re going to be in-flight for a while.
Athleta Endless Bomber Jacket
I do try to look a tad more put together by opting for a cozy bomber instead of a sweatshirt. This one’s super lightweight, and I dig the crop length that has it hit right around my waist.
Adidas Gazelle Shoes
Staple, hard stop. I’ve really gravitated to these for everyday wear, especially since they’re available in so many fun color combinations.
Dieux Resuable (!!) Eyemasks
Yes, you read that right. REUSABLE. Forget spending $3.99 every time you want to treat yourself. Use whatever serums or lotions you want, and then lay these on top —allowing the products to fully sink in and making you feel fresh. I use mine mostly with this eye creme from Olehenriksen.
JisuLife Handheld Mini Fan, 3-in-1 Hand Fan
This year’s Games is potentially going to be the HOT, so I’m planning ahead a bit in terms of outfits that I won’t visibly sweat through as well as BYOF (bring your own fan).
Veektomx Portable Charger
I never travel without this thing. This portable iPhone charger is a no-brainer for $16 (it’s currently on sale). I love it because there’s no need to carry a separate cord, and it also charges my phone in record speed.
AirFly Pro Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter
Another clutch item for the plane, there’s such a major difference in background noise when you’re able to wear noise canceling headphones versus the plug-in ones the flight attendants offer. Absolutely a must for any long-distance flight for me, as it plugs into the TV headphone jack, connects over bluetooth to my AirPods Pro Max, and allows me to zone out.
So tell me: What NEEDS to come with you when you’re on the road? And, if you have any Paris favorites (restaurants, croissant locales, wine bars, workouts) — toss them in the comments, too!
Keep hurdling,
P.S. Thanks for all of your wonderful comments on last week’s newsletter! It’s so appreciated. Let’s keep that going, whether there’s a giveaway — or not.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
I’m Listening To: Misty Copeland on Finding Mastery with Dr. Michael Gervais
Misty and Michael have a really special conversation on this episode of Finding Mastery, loaded with strong takeaways about stepping into your power under pressure and owning what makes you great.
Gear I’m Loving: lululemon Breezethrough High-Rise Tight
I didn’t realize how much I wanted a tight without a front seam until I tried one (this one). The new Breezethrough from lululemon is fast-drying and light, similar to Align, but made with hot workouts (think yoga, Pilates) in mind. Also, I’m not hating on the seaming in the back, which seams to shape things nicely, if you know what I mean.
Prompt I’m Loving: What’s one goal you have for the next 45 days of summer?
Quote I’m Loving: “It’s the people who are afraid to make bold decisions, they lose.”
Thanks to AG1 — the daily foundational nutrition supplement that supports whole-body health — for supporting Hurdle.
I originally gave AG1 a try years ago because I was tired of taking so many supplements and wanted a single solution that supports my entire body and covers my nutritional bases. I wanted better gut health, a boost (or similar) in energy, immune system support, and also wanted a supplement that actually tastes great. And I can tell you — it checks all of those boxes.
In a recent study, AG1 revealed that participants had the same feelings of energy, focus, and supported digestion that I’ve had using AG1. For example, after 60 days, 91% of participants in a research study noticed they needed less coffee; after 90 days, 97% of study participants felt their digestion improved.
I shake up AG1 every morning after my workout, and truly it makes me feel energized and confident knowing that I’m doing something good for my body by giving it the nutrition I deserve — including 75 whole food-sourced ingredients, prebiotics, probiotics, adaptogens, and superfoods.
If you want to take ownership of your health, it starts with AG1. Try AG1 and get a FREE 1-year supply of Vitamin D3/K2 AND five free AG1 travel packs with your first purchase. Go to drinkAG1.com/hurdle.
