Presented by LMNT:
Earlier this year I finished the course work to obtain my certified professional coaching certification (CPC) through the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (IPEC). You can liken this to me becoming a certified life coach. There are tons of skills that I learned through this in-depth curriculum of work, but one that I come back to time and time again is called breakthrough laser coaching. This tool’s used to remove inner blocks and create new possibilities, through asking the right questions.
For example: Say you feel as though you could never be a morning workout person. I have the questions in my toolbox that are necessary to talk you through this. By the time I’m done prompting you through the work, you’d choose a more powerful belief (whether or not you believe it in this moment), and then follow-up with creating both an action and accountability plan.
When I first heard about this tool, I thought it was too good to be true. You mean by simply asking the right questions, I can help someone get over a fear or hurdle?
Yes, I can. And the good news? You don’t need to pay for a certification like I did to get in on the action, too.
More often than not, we’re stuck in a certain place because of the confusion because feeling versus fact. So, more often than not, if you tell me you could never be a morning workout person, that’s because you feel like you could never be one. You may not like mornings, sure. But that doesn’t mean that working out during them is impossible. This is an assumption based on a feeling. What would happen if those thoughts or feelings didn’t get in the way? What would happen if you chose a more powerful thought, like “I have the power to take control of my mornings.” How would that feel?
Yeah, focus on that. The good good.
So the next time you feel as though you’re in a challenging position or you want something that’s not clicking, start here: Is my issue rooted in fact or feeling? Is it an inner block, or an outer block? It’s completely understandable that you may have certain filters or bias due to previous experiences. However, when you can stand in what’s true and refrain from letting your emotions get the best of you?
That’s where the magic happens.
So tell me: What’s one challenge you’ve been facing lately, and what’s a more powerful thought you can choose to help you get over this particular hurdle?
Keep hurdling,
P.S. Happy Hanukkah to all those who celebrate!
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
I’m Listening To: The Money With Katie Show
I can thank Spotify Wrapped for this, because after seeing it on a slew of my friends’ top lists — I totally dove head first. Love this episode on how to set 2024 financial goals, as a starter.
I’m Watching: American Symphony on Netflix
Oh my goodness this was so so good. Watched this documentary featuring Grammy winning artist Jon Batiste and his wife Suleika Jaouad last week, and damn their love is so, so pure and special. The documentary follows Batiste as he composes a symphony, all the while Jaouad learns that her cancer is back, the pinnacle of success and the depths of despair — the way they show up for one another despite is beautiful.
Gear I’m Loving: Lululemon Fast and Free Running Ear Warmer
This is my go-to now that it’s if I don’t cover my ears I will be frozen running season. I love that it’s no-budge, and it also has reflective detailing to keep me seen in low light scenarios. Also, it’s a good price point for gifting!
Gear I’m Loving: A&F Scarlett Sequin Mini Skort
OK, not at all a wellness/fitness item. But! I have to share. I can’t believe I’m typing this (OK, actually I can). I've been wanting a sequin mini skirt for a while, and this one from A&F (yep, Abercrombie’s resurgence strikes again) is so great. It’s the perfect length, and I adore that it’s a skort instead of a skirt for modesty purposes.

Another (weekly) Hurdle conquered. Catch you guys next week.
Lately, I've been struggling with the fact that I'm aging. I'm only 30, but in terms of my physical body, I feel older than my age. Some days, everything hurts, and then some days I can run 6 miles and then do several trips up and down to my laundry room. I'm working on losing weight, but something new that I struggle with is that my body has become resistant to it so I'm navigating changes that I need to make to inspire my body to want to lose weight. So, I instituted a few positive changes into my routine to try and make this happen. I'm taking different vitamins (and taking them more regularly), I'm drinking a healthy amount of water, taking walks where I can, allowing my body to rest when it needs, and I bought a standing desk riser for my computer monitor to prevent swelling in my legs when I sit and write for hours at a time. So far, so good. But I'm going to have to continue to find ways to manage stress in order to reach my goals.
