Presented by LMNT:
I shared these sentiments yesterday on social, and got a lot of heartfelt messages along the lines of “I really needed to hear that.” So, I’m bringing it here to the newsletter. Short sentiments from me this week. I went to a funeral on Thursday for someone I’ve known since I was 11. She had cancer. Toward the end of her long battle, she’d tell her family:
“I have no time for bad days.”
Perspective is a gift. Period. A lot of things can cloud that perspective on the regular. Unfortunately, all too often it takes gut-wrenching, difficult moments to remind us just how precious life truly is.
How lucky are we to have this opportunity to live it?
To try new things?
Get uncomfortable?
Push harder?
Love deeply and intensely and without regret?
Experience goodness?
Embrace each other?
Today, I’m extra grateful.
For every minute.
For every hour.
For every day.
Today, I’m reminded that although there will be hurt —
Bad days are optional.
Keep hurdling,
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
I’m Listening To: Start Again by Juke Ross
I could gleefully listen to Juke Ross on repeat in my apartment for an entire weekend.
I’m Watching: The Final Four and Grand Slam Track
Granted, I’ll be cheering on UConn in my pajamas on the couch tonight for the 9 p.m. start, but I am geeked. Tonight also kicks off the first installment of Grand Slam Track from Kingston, Jamaica. New to Grand Slam? Learn about it here.
I’m Wearing: lululemon Swift Speed High-Rise Short
Well, I found it: This year’s Goldilocks pick from lululemon. I’m a fan of a biker-style short, specifically one that has a 6-inch inseam with pockets. This one is no-budge, and in addition to the two large pockets on each thigh — also has a zippered one in the back for cards, keys, and more.
“I would’ve played it. I would’ve loved it. LA 2028, maybe we’ll do two sports.”
- Caitlin Clark, when asked if she would’ve played football if it was an option growing up. Flag football has been added as an Olympic sport for the 2028 Games.
Other thoughts and links: I mentioned this in last week’s newsletter, but I’ll be at a gallery sponsored by ASICS showcasing female photographers on Saturday, April 5, in Washington D.C. It will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. Join me there! Speaking of ASICS, Bandit and ASICS launched a collab this week, and the sneaker is gorgeous (plus, the Novablast is one of my top four favorite sneakers of all-time). Goodr released some fun, fashion-forward frames (say that five times fast) this week that are cute. They’re no longer a sponsor of the show, but the code HURDLE still works to snag free shipping. My friend Liz Plosser had a helpful discussion over on her Substack Best Case Scenario about creatine. Rumor has it that Justin Bieber’s launching a footwear line. Also, if you’re not earning money for your workouts yet using Receipts, you’re missing out.

MY SOMETHING NEW
One of my goals for 2025 is to do something new every single week. I wrote about this a few weeks back. Dig it? Let me know in the comments below ⬇️
Tuesday, March 25: Meet With a Financial Advisor
I went to a luncheon a couple months ago put together by Northwestern Mutual, and to say my interest was piqued when it comes to thinking forward and planning would be a massive understatement. So, I had my first of a few sessions with a financial advisor last week, and I’ve already learned so much (sheesh) in just two hours of time together.
In our first session, my girl Claire and I talked over my current finances, assets, accounts, goals, etc. (Of note: You can do these in-person but it was just more convenient for the two of us to chat over Zoom.) Then, we met again and she walked me through what a potential financial plan could look like. The plan details everything from my projected net worth to what scenarios could look like with my goal to (eventually) purchase a home. Plus: Other important considerations like planning for retirement, investing, and asset allocation.
It felt so SO helpful to start to get a grip on this, and it really has my wheels turning about how to make my money really work for me.
Have financial Qs? Or any Qs at all? Let me know in the comments below ⬇️

Last week, Melanie Allen was working on plans for fall 2026 (will they innovate on my go-to Glycerin 22?!) As the Chief Marketing Officer at Brooks Running, she's always thinking three steps (or, at least four seasons) ahead. In this week's episode, she's talking us through how she arrived to this role, and what it’s like to own her power as a leader and make decisions without “a safety net.” Plus: The important lessons she learned from her mother, what it was like to run her first half-marathon, and how she manages to tame negative self-talk.
